When Henri was staying with us, we went to a park in the desert one day after I had work. It was (surprisingly enough) really hot there, but also quite picturesque.
The park is called the Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, which is apparently named after an infamous bandit named Vasquez who eluded the police by hiding among the rocks there in the 1800s.
Apparently movies and commercials frequently utilize this area for filming, probably because being there, it feels like you could be in a lot of different places, not just Los Angeles.
I always love the little green desert plants that pop up through all the beige.
Henri took a lot of lovely pictures.
Sean excitedly ran up some of the rocks.
At the end of our time, we saw a few people riding on horses. Maybe some Wild West movies were shot here. I could picture it easily.
Until next time,
